London Calling

Everything is Lovely in London!

If there is one thing you should know by now it is my obsession with London.  Ever since my roomie and I traveled there for spring break 2010 it stole my heart!  The culture, my love for The Beatles, the style, the history, the cute men with british accents and of course the SHOPPING! London seems to be as diverse as you can get with retailers offering customers specific niches in bookshops, boutiques, bakeries, vintage finds and everything in-between. Well have no fear because Shopikon just launched a London ultimate shopping guide! With this hand selected guide of the best boutiques and independent retailers you can browse photos and reviews, share your favorite shops with friends and print your very own custom shopping map!

If I had a custom shopping map here’s how it would go: 1st place to visit would be the Colombia Road Flower Market.  I can imagine the oasis of flowers blooming, sweet aroma and vivacious colors now.  Is there anything more lovely than fresh-flowers…really?  Sometimes you just need a pop of color and sweet scent to not only look romantic but to brighten your day.

My 2nd place to visit would be Ally Capellino bags.  Providing minimalist luxury with spot-on craftsmanship is a hard duo to find  and these bags have both. Inspired by the designers love of cycling her collection offers modern-yet timeless silhouettes in rich leathers  that scream functionality.

My last stop (the list could go on and on) would be After Noah Antiques for knick-knacks and small treasures.  Some times to gain inspiration it’s important to look at your past.  Retro finds from traditional classic children’s games and furniture restoration offers you vintage lifestyle at a one-stop shop!

Jason Wu for Target, finally here!

Mark those calendars for February 5th because JASON WU is hitting Tar-J (aka Target) Boutique.  This limited-edition collection will introduce women’s apparel, handbags and scarves. As inspiration from the idea of “An American girl in Paris” he introduces time-less silhouettes and  classic colors from $19.99 to $49.99…what a steal!  Milu, Wu’s black cat muse found on many of his collection pieces, marks a debut in his marketing campaign for his Target Collaboration!

I will be waking up early to stock up on the beautiful blouses and the trench coat for the upcoming season!

MAD for MADMEN Style!

Last night I threw on my cardigan, pearl bracelets, and a swipe of red lipstick before attending “Putting on the Glitz” MADMEN Holiday Party and Fashion Show hosted by My Dream Bag Boutique.  The 60’s inspired fashion show celebrated the spirit of the holidays accompanied by  glitzy live sketches, makeovers by Kelly Cardenas Salon and raffle prizes.  Guests also could donate to Toys for tots and Bridge to Success illuminating the true meaning of giving back during this Holiday season.

The Fashion Show lineup showcased Crescendo Apparel’s Fall/Winter 2011 Collection focusing on women blessed with small waists and full hips.  The next collection to show was Cinnamon Boutique featuring modern urban fashions.  And to cap it all off was My Dream Bag Boutique custom leather handbags and  LeAnita Jewelry– one of a kind .

I was literally drooling over Carrie Ella’s MADMEN- inspired Fall handbag collection.  The new buttery leather line includes ” leopard prints, bold colors, handle-top satchels with convertible shoulder straps and metallic accents incorporating modern elegance while capturing the classic yet feminine style of the ladies on the ever popular TV show.”  Any of these bags will add that POP of vintage glam  to your outfit. My favorites are below…
